Lately, I've notice a pair of Magpies doing a lot of squawking over by Noah's pasture. The other day I looked up and saw a huge nest. Today when I looked out in the field, it was apparent that Mama and Papa Magpie were giving flying lessons to their brood.

Magpies! I just love their name!
ReplyDeleteYes, and they are quite a pretty bird, black and white with blue feathers, but they are scavengers. They will dive bomb the cats to get to the cat food dish. I've seen the robins chasing them. I know they will steal eggs and young from other nests.
ReplyDeleteMaylee, I keep watching for your blog???
ReplyDeleteI love watching all the different birds around here.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say that Magpies are my least favorite.
Have a great day!
I know lots of folks that consider them to be a nuisance, but I do think they are a pretty bird. I even threw my strawberry tops out to them! What can I say....I'm a bird lover!
